You will find our Café Residenz in the Cavalier Wing, on the left- hand side in the palace courtyard. Located right at the exit of the imperial rooms, perfect for a break before or after your visit to the palace. Where once were cooked for the imperial guards, you can today enjoy the typical atmosphere of a Viennese coffee house with cosy upholstered benches, sitting lounges and noble chandeliers. In summer, you can sit outside on our covered terrace, surrounded by the beautiful yellow facades of Schönbrunn and the green of the palace park and gardens. Located in the main court, the Café Restaurant Residenz and the Hofbackstube Schönbrunn are situated left of the main entrance in the imperial palace Schönbrunn. Downstairs under the café in an old time romantic cellar, you will find the „Hofbackstube Schönbrunn“. Here you have the chance to watch how an original professional confectioner prepares the world-renowned delicious “Viennese Applestrudel”. Our staff in the bakery will invite you to sample these sweets and we will also provide you with insider information on Viennese bakery tradition. Finally you can shop in our bakery.
