This breath-taking Gothic castle was founded in 1348 by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia. It is surrounded by the tiny picturesque village of Karlštejn. Its unique design of high, peaked towers makes it one of the most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic. Meet your guide at your hotel and continue towards Karlštejn. The castle served as a place to protect the collection of Imperial Regalia as well as the Bohemian crown jewels, holy relics, and other royal treasures. You will be able to see the interiors of this castle with a local guide who will open the historical rooms for us. The way towards the castle is steep and might present a challenge to some, therefore we can organise a ride with horse carriage. Some time at your own leisure to explore the town.
