Meet your guide and drive to the town of Benešov to visit the Konopiště Castle. Konopiště Castle was probably founded in 1294 following the design of French fortresses with drawbridge, four gates, watchtower and cylindrical towers. In 1327, Konopiště became property of the Sternberg house for 275 years. Then it was passed from one important aristocratic house to another. The medieval castle structure was modified many times. On arrival take a short walk upto the castle. You can explore the interior on one of the four routes – 1. The rooms in the south wing furnished in baroque style 2. the north wing including famous armoury (the richest in the Czech lands), chapel and a lift 3.
